Musician Paulo Nutini

First Act teamed up with WEA Records to promote the release of Paolo Nutini’s latest single “New Shoes.” Nutini is Europe’s hottest import – a Scottish singer with a soulful voice and stunning good looks who, at age 20, has a worldwide record deal and has already opened for the Rolling Stones. First Act acoustic guitars signed by Nutini were made available for fans through creative promotions like free “Nutini” espresso shots at Mud Coffee in NYC, text messaging campaigns at Newbury Comics stores, and proof-of-purchase sweepstakes at FYE and Coconuts.

As Maroon 5 releases their sophomore album, It Won’t Be Soon Before Long, the band is making major appearances with frontman Adam Levine brandishing his new First Act guitar. On May 19th, Levine appeared on Saturday Night Live, playing the handsome double cutaway, carved-top electric, and the guitar played a starring role in the band’s “Makes Me Wonder” video.

Maroon 5 also played an intimate live concert on March 30th for the Musicians On Call annual benefit auction at Sotheby’s in New York City. First Act donated a guitar signed by the band as well as a PW580 guitar signed by Paul Westerberg (The Replacements).

First Act Limited Edition Delgada Bass
Inspired by the greatest vintage basses of all time, First Act’s luthiers have designed the Limited Edition Delgada Bass. With a signature look and fat tone, the Delgada is perfectly balanced and supremely comfortable to play.

With the success of our Limited Edition line, artists were asking for a Limited Edition bass. In our Studio for Artists, our luthiers carved a single cutaway, asymmetrical alder body and a maple neck. The smooth rosewood fretboard is punctuated with mother-of-pearl dot inlays.

Electronics include two bass humbuckers, created exclusively by Kent Armstrong for First Act, with Alnico magnets and custom chrome housings. Hardware includes Hipshot Ultra Lite clover tuners and a Hipshot convertible bridge.

The bass is quickly gaining attention in the hands of Al Berry, bassist for Avril Lavigne; Einar, bassist for Kelly Clarkson; Ryan Sinn (Angels and Airwaves, The Distillers); Jeff Matz of High on Fire (formerly of Zeke); Troy Sanders of Mastodon; and Chris Sorenson of Saosin.
